Why hire a Paralegal vs a Lawyer?

Well, a paralegal can represent you in the areas that they’re licensed to practice which is the Ontario court of justice for provincial offenses court or criminal court. If the charge is a summary, conviction charge. A summary conviction charge means an incarceration period of no more than six months.

You can in fact hire a lawyer. if you hire a lawyer to provide those services that a paralegal’s entitled to act on your behalf, you can expect to pay a more substantial amount than the fees that would be charged by a paralegal and a paralegal is qualified, licensed to represent you in that court.

So it’s very cost-effective to use a paralegal as opposed to a law firm or a sole practitioner lawyer.
